Greetings! This is my first year doing Yuletide (barring a random treat I wrote two years ago when I wasn’t actually participating), and I’m very excited! I’ve been considering signing up for years now, and I’m thrilled to be actually doing it at last.

I nominated three fandoms: two from theater and one song/band. I made promo posts for two of them, both of which can be found in the promo thread, direct links below:

Sleep No More

Psyche Corporation

I tend to prefer Gen fics, but I’m not against romance where it’s relevant, and if you’re in the mood to write some smut, I’m not opposed. When it comes to romance/smut, I much prefer sticking to relationships found in established canon. I don’t really read M/M, unless, again, it’s already part of established canon. I don’t have a problem with darker themes like violence, rape, or mental illness - if you are comfortable exploring those, go for it, but they’re absolutely not required! I like drama and angst, and I also enjoy comedy. I love worldbuilding and character studies. I’d prefer to avoid AUs or any attempts to integrate real world issues (i.e. politics) into the world of the fandom. I’m not into genderbending or any other explorations of gender and sexuality. I welcome treats, if anyone is so inclined to offer one!

Optional: If and only if you feel compelled to offer smut, here is a short list of some of my biggest kinks: rape, objectification, obsession, D/s, free use, bondage, public use, monstrous body parts, mindfucking, humiliation, degradation, pain, group participation, predicaments and equipment, and bad endings. That said, this dark tone is not required if it does not fit the tone of the established canon relationship. I enjoy fluff, pining, and love where it makes sense for the pairing! As mentioned above, I don’t read much M/M smut, but almost any other permutation of gender pairings (M/F, F/F, M/F/M, and etc.) is fine by me. (Essentially, I like for there to be at least one woman involved, and for her to preferably be the center of the action.)

Without any further ado, my requests! (None of the suggestions below are required prompts - feel free to simply take them as inspiration):

Sleep No More

Characters: Hecate, The Porter, J. Fulton, Speakeasy Bartender

DNW: explicit smut (sexual undertones are fine)

I’d love to see some worldbuilding or character studies here. I'm particularly interested in Hecate and her relationships with her various followers: the Porter, the Speakeasy Bartender, and the three witches. The Porter is a character I absolutely love, and I’d love to see some focus on him. Give him angst, comfort, fluff, or something else! I'm also interested in the character of Fulton and how he resists the lure of the witches. Other characters from the show can be integrated if you so choose, especially any of the witches or the taxidermist, but these four are my top picks. Don’t feel obligated to use ALL of them, but any one or any combination thereof is great. I'd love it if the setting itself played a big role in the story, as if the McKittrick Hotel was itself a character. It’s such a dynamic setting and has a lot of possibilities. The high street and the hotel lobby are the most compelling settings to me, but I welcome an appearance from any place in the McKittrick.

Oh - Psyche Corporation (song)

Characters: Narrator

DNW: Major character death (Narrator). Whatever else happens, the Narrator should be triumphant.

Psyche Corp has a lot of compelling narratively driven songs, but I’ve chosen to focus exclusively on Oh for this request, on the album Crypts and Codes. As with above, a character study or worldbuilding fic is always welcome, but this one could go in all sorts of other directions too. Given the subject matter of the song, smut and violence are welcome for this (though, again, not required!), and it can go as dark as you like. Take me into the mind of the avenging narrator, or one of her victims. Tell me her backstory. There is a music video for the song, feel free to take inspiration from there. Get angsty, or give her some emotional closure.

Macbeth

Characters: Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, Hecate, Three Witches

DNW: Nothing, go for it!

I’m gonna be real, I nominated this one as a backup in case Sleep No More got rejected. However, I still love the story! For this, I’d love to see a focus on the two main characters and how they interact with each other, plus all the witches. Again, feel free to use any one character or a combination thereof, or feel free to integrate other characters from the play, as long as the primary focus is either on the Macbeths or the witches/Hecate. What would happen if any of the witches were to interact with Lady M in person? What’s going on in Macbeth’s head, Lady M’s head? What do the witches or Hecate get up to when the Macbeths aren’t around? Or what do they get up to before or after the events of the main story? Feel free to get creative with this one - make the witches young or old, write in poetry or prose, use modern or Shakespearean dialect. I’m also more open to reinterpretations of the setting with this one - feel free to make the setting modern, or fantastical, or try another take on it. (Can I suggest film noir? No pressure.)

Very excited to see what folks come up with! Have fun, and thank you for writing!
